True Believer

'I seen many youngsters change their minds,
forgetting their life plan
or they pretend they never had one.
You need a long memory, La Vaughn.
You can't go forgetting the minute it gets too hard,”

This quote from the book from pg 23. This section is important to the book because, this is where fifteen year old, LaVaughn named after her two aunts. Is where she knows for a fact that she is going to go to college. But most people in there neighborhood doesn’t have to chance the chances to go to college. Her old time buddy, Jody moved back in and he also really wants to go to college as a professional swimmer. She seems to think he likes her, but we aren’t sure, about the way Jody feels. I think in this book, LaVaugh will get distracted in school and maybe not go to college. And fall in love with the boy, Jody. Because, she think he is gorgeous.

  1. I hope you are wrong about your prediction because it's nice to hear about young people who are able to change their futures by going to college. But I know you are a pretty wise reader, so your prediction might turn out to be true. Maybe LaVaughn and Jody will end up holding each other up above the influences of their neighborhood and they'll both go to college? We'll see!
